PACE confirmed Armenian delegation's credentials

PACE Committee on rules of procedure confirmed Armenian delegation’s credentials at the January 26 session, the parliament source informed .

Parliamentary procedure stipulated discussion of the matter by Committee first, thereafter in case of positive decision the issue had to be discussed in the course of plenary session, the source says. In this case, the matter on Armenian delegation will appear on the agenda only for endorsement. Thus, RA delegation members will continue their activities in PACE.

At its winter session opened in Strasbourg on January 25 the CE Parliamentary Assembly (PACE) confirmed the powers of all the national delegations except for the Armenian and Albanian delegations. The European parliamentarians stated the Armenian Parliament fell foul of the rules for composing the Armenian delegation, without explaining what they meant.

On January 15, RA Parliament Speaker Hovik Abrahamyan confirmed the Armenian delegation members. He removed the Heritage Party member Zaruhi Bostanjyan from the list of permanent members of the Armenian delegation to PACE.
